Spring 2018

OMHA continues to work with the various Departments within the Ohio Department of Commerce. OMHA Staff and several board members participated in a conference call in February to discuss upcoming adoption of new rules (to be proposed in July) and any changes the industry should be aware of.   While Commerce did not identify any significant changes at this time OMHA will continue to closely monitor the drafted laws and rules as they are published and provide appropriate input and testimony.

OMHA staff has received several questions on various topics to which we have listed below.  If members are having any trouble during this transition feel free to reach out to us and we will help.

Ohio Contractor Licensing Board

  • Parks- OCLIB asked we notify members that they have processed and mailed all of the manufactured home Park licenses that were due in December.
  • Installers—Renewal forms have gone out to all of the installers who are due to renew in March 2018.

If you have not yet renewed, received your park license or did not receive a form contact Carol Ross at Carol.Ross@com.state.oh.us or phone 614-644-3495 to obtain a copy.

 Flooding in Manufactured Home Parks

With the recent flooding in the state, all park owners should be aware: If you are located in a 100-year floodplain and you suffer a flood event, you must contact the Division of Industrial Compliance (DIC) and your local board of health within two days of the occurrence. You may contact DIC at 614-644-2223, or Michelle Grago of the division’s building department at 614-728-9104 and ask to report a flooded manufactured home park. Your local board of health will then inspect the park, in accordance with R.C. 4781.33. Please check with your floodplain administrator or the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Water Resources – Floodplain Management Program https://water.ohiodnr.gov/water-use-planning/floodplain-management if you have any questions about your floodplain status.
